Thomas Alva Edison was granted a patent (US223898A) on the electric lightbulb on January 27, 1880. The incandescence of an electric lamp is disclosed in Edison's electric bulb patent. However, due of Edison's design modifications and the materials he utilised, such as a carbon filament, his patent allowed for an electric lamp that was dependable, safe, and useful. Edison's patent was an improvement on electric lamps.
